Well ladies and gentleman...
Elder Kabwika has officially finished serving his full time mission!!!
We had a great last week of transfer. I’ll be staying in the area for a few more weeks. I’m now on to another adventure with my new companion, Elder Dini from Zimbabwe. Something interesting…this is my 4th companion from Zim! Thanks again to Angus, my friend in Allen TX, for helping me adjust to our fellow brothers!

Sadly, one of our recent convert’s daughters passed away this week in the house. She was 39 but in a very serious health condition. He was more happy about it because of the knowledge of the plan of salvation and also because he’s not really able to take care of all the grandchildren and himself. He’s a 76 year old man that lives alone. He knows his daughter is in a better place and now is no longer suffering with physical pain.

By way of announcement…I’m sure my mom has already mentioned something but
this week marks 18 months on my mission!! 6 more to go and the work will be finished for a season. I hope to continue growing in my knowledge of the Gospel and reinforce an immovable testimony! The gospel of Jesus Christ has already brought so much change in my life and in the lives of many others I’ve met! Sis Divya hasn’t stopped smiling since her baptism and we're now preparing her oldest daughter to be baptized!! I know if this happens, it will be a one great moment and Sis. Divya will continue to feel the spirit so strongly in her life! She already reports that sooo much change has come to her life and I’ve seen it myself. She’s like Enos in the Book of Mormon. After receiving a forgiveness of her sins she now has a DESIRE for all her family and friends to learn the truth and to feel the same love from our Heavenly Father that she has felt. We've started meeting with Divya’s sisters and family.

I’m grateful for all your prayers and love that you send this way! Please continue.
I hope everyone has a great week. Keep pressing forward with steadfastness in Christ!

With love,

Elder Morris

Well Done Elder Kabwika

Well hello to another great week of mission life,

THE GREATEST PART OF THE WEEK was the baptism of my beloved SISTER, Sis. Divya. as well as Bro. Lawrence!

Divya is probably THE ONE investigator that I’ve seen CHANGE her life to become a true disciple of Jesus Christ. I think her story is absolutely amazing! It was a blessing to be able to see her have a desire to follow Christ into the waters of baptism! I was sooo HAPPY to see her baptized and confirmed this last week! She too was very, very HAPPY!

Also a great week because I was able to finish reading the Book of Mormon again. And let me just share my testimony that I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ! I’ve known it for a while now but as I did as Moroni directs, read, ponder and pray…again it was reconfirmed to me personally that it is true! I encourage all to read the Book of Mormon and I know as you do so with an open heart, you'll learn more about our Heavenly Father’s great plan for us and more about his Son, Jesus Christ.

This is actually my companions last week on the mission. He’s making it known to all of us in the apartment! Ha ha ha But I’ll sure miss him! He's definitely helped me grow more spiritually and in gospel understanding. He’s a great missionary and will be blessed for his service.

This is also the last week of transfers. I’m almost positive I’ll be staying here in Ofankor this time. Ha ha ha

I hope everyone has a great week! I know God is watching over us! Keep looking towards him for help.
with love,
Elder Morris

HEY YALL!!! Another good week has gone by.

This last week we had a great Zone Conference where we got to hear from our beloved mission President! What an inspiring man! His topic was about obedience and it really helped me see the importance of being more obedient to not only the commandment but also as a missionary, the mission rules. It’s about ALWAYS having the spirit with you. Not just to help you but to help your investigators feel the spirit during the lessons. As we are obedient to mission rules, it keeps us safe and helps us to be better testifiers of the restored gospel!

Another part of the week, we actually had a young man pass away in our ward. He was only 28 years old and it really shocked everyone! Elder Kabwika gave a great talk on Sunday during Sacrament meeting about the plan of salvation.

Even though I have knowledge about Gods plan for us it was reassuring to learn again that this life is not the end. It’s just the beginning of Gods great plan for us. As we learn from the Book of Mormon, we learned in the spirit world that this life isn’t the end. Our goal is to do what is required before we leave this life. Those requirements are found throughout scriptures.
John 3:5 talks of baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost.
2nd Nephi 31 talks about all the gospel of Jesus Christ and about having faith in Christ, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I’m grateful for the knowledge of all these things.

This week we’re planning to have 2 baptisms. The first SISTER DIVYA!!!! YEEEHHAWWW and Lawrence. Sis. D is the longest investigator I’ve worked with. But I learned this week that the gospel of Jesus Christ is all about progression. We may not be perfect in living the Gospel but we're perfectly working towards it!

I hope everyone has a great Valentines week and feels the love that Christ has for each of us. And don’t forget the love our Heavenly Father has for us! JOHN 3:16

With love,

Elder Morris

More baby face for momma...(Honestly, can he please bring me home a baby or 2 or 10!)
Banku:  is pounded until it can be formed into a sticky ball. It is apparently made with corn meal, and typically also plantains. The corn meal is allowed to ferment a bit, which gives it a mildly sour flavor.  Banku is usually served with soup, stew or pepper sauce and fish.

Perhaps the most well-known Ghana staple is fufu (FOO-foo). Fufu is ubiquitous in West Africa; it’s a staple starch that’s often eaten with stew. It’s made with boiled cassava and plantains that are pounded. And pounded. And pounded. And pounded.
Until they form a cohesive, gelatinous mass.

Hello to everyone this week! Hope everyone had a great one. Well, this is what’s been up.
Tuesday night we had a really big thunderstorm which was awesome! It rained for forever which made it challenging to get home after with the floods and mud! (see photo)
Wednesday we went on exchanges with other missionaries.
Thursday we had personal interviews with the mission president which was great.

Let see I have a great story this week:
I really liked a certain lesson we had this week with a new lady we met, Sister Dora.
She stays in the same compound as a part member family so we've seen and spoke to here a few times but nothing of what we do. So when we met her we introduced ourselves and then started sharing our message. The great thing about it (for me) was that this lady knew English so well that I didn’t have to do my Ghanaian accent where I somehow stutter for words when I talk so I really felt the spirit in that lesson. No big distractions, no donkeys. Ha ha This sister was very humble about praying to know if Joseph Smith was a true Prophet. It was a sweet experience.
Another interesting part of the week was during my interview with President he asked me a question that I don’t think I’ve ever really thought about. He said "Elder Morris how is your personal relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ?" I actually had to think about it for a second... but if I’ve learned one thing on mission about my relationship with Jesus Christ, it is that I LOVE to use His atonement. One, because I’m not perfect…Two, because I’ve learned so much more about it and now understand its purpose.

In order for us to enter back into God’s kingdom we must become clean. We become clean by REPENTING of our sins. Next we partake of the sacrament to renew our baptismal covenants. The grace of Christ will be sufficient for us all but I’ve learned a very important lesson…people think grace is all about being saved and that the atonement of Jesus Christ is just to help people ENJOY this life while living in their sins. They expect to be saved in the end. But it’s not like that at all! It’s about being CHANGED by GRACE. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is for everyone. The opportunity to repent is for everyone. Are we using His atonement? If not, start now. Change from your old ways. Don’t expect God to save you in your sins if you’re not trying to change.
I LOVE THE ATONEMENT. My relationship with Christ is that I do my best to use the great gift He has given us and in the process He helps me change. I encourage all to do the same!
Have a great week! Take it one day at a time and always do it with a smile!
With love,

Elder Morris
