Well this is the week!!
I’ve made it to the top!! And now I'm moving down!! On September 3rd I've hit 1 year on the mission. And it feels great! It's been a wonderful learning experience and I look forward to another great year. I know if said this a thousand times but it’s so true, time is flying!

This last week we didn’t have much go on... But the highlight was we were able to have a member present at every lesson we had which was great! Especially because they assist in translating for clarification. We street contact a lot now to find new investigators. And as much as I don’t like contacting (ha-ha) I do enjoy sharing the message of the restoration! So each day that’s what I put in the forefront of my mind as we find people. I’ve noticed how much I've grown this first year! Looking back at my first lesson on the mission I didn’t really know what to say. I just knew to testify to what my companion was teaching. I remember looking at my trainer and thinking; I hope I’ll be able to teach like some day.  I’m not the best teacher but I’ve definintely seen some growth and progress. I guess you can relate it to life. When we're young, we don’t really understand rules of our parents or even the commandments that God has given us, but as we get older we start to see the importance of everything we've learned as a child or youth. At least that’s how it is for me. I didn’t truly understand the importance of the Atonement. But as I’ve grown in the gospel and as a missionary, I finally see it!!

It’s all a bigger plan! We're just on this earth to learn and grow! Or to gain more light and truth as the scriptures would say! Anyway I’m excited I’ve come this far and grateful for this opportunity
to serve. And I think the best missionary is one with a strong, firm testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You'll be surprised at how someone will come to know the truth through your sharing of your own.

I know That God and Jesus Christ have restored the true church on the earth, even though the Prophet Joseph Smith. And that the Priesthood authority was brought with it. I know that the principles of the
gospel will bless our lives as we strive to live them. And that as we do that, we will grow into the person God has intended us to be! Don’t be afraid to share the restored gospel to all people!! For all you know it may be exactly what they're looking for, they just never knew where to find it!

I know God lives and His son, Jesus Christ! They love us very much!!  Thank you for the love and support y’all send me! It builds me up keeps me pushing forward!
Have a blessed week

HEY once again from Ghana!

Well this week I hope this original email sends so I don’t have to restart! Not much to report! I’ll just let you know how the week was. We're doing better with working with members now that HS is out. We have
some youth that are preparing for a mission so they're going to start coming out with us almost every day! So we'll probably do splits which is great because then we can really increase our teaching pool by finding a lot! And they can both translate for us so no excuse for not contacting people that don’t speak English!

We had our first Zone training with President Simpson this last week and it was GREAT!!! I love the way he teaches! We actually studied Doctrine and Covenants 93 together. This section talks about us gaining Light and Truth or "Intelligence". We came to the conclusion the way we gain more light and truth in this life is by study, prayer, fasting and obedience to the commandments! Just as an example, look at any of the apostles or better, the Prophet. They have so much knowledge of the gospel. It comes by their obedience to the Lord and their personal study of the gospel.

Another thing from this week, President has challenged us to pray each day in our companionship at 12 o’clock noon for new investigators or people to teach. Well this last week on the days that we followed that challenge, we had successful days. And the days were we forgot to pray we had a lot of failed appointments and a not so successful days. So again, we must have obedience to those the Lord has appointed to receive revelation for the work of the Lord to move forward! In this case, the words of my mission president.

We've been challenged to also read the Book of Mormon cover to cover before the end of the year to increase the spirit within the mission. I’m very excited to do this because I always learn something new while reading the Book of Mormon. I'll also extend this challenge to anyone whose reading this email. And if you’re already reading it, just keep going and then circle back to where you start. As you do this remember to ponder about the message it contains and then pray and ask our Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ, if the book is true,  and by the power of the Holy Ghost, and through your faith, you will come to know that the Book of Mormon IS Another Testament of Jesus Christ!

Thank you for all your support and love you send! May God bless you
each day this week.
Smile and remember Jesus Loves you ;)

Sooo.. I’m a little upset because I just wrote a nice weekly letter and then the network was lost in the cafe and my weekly didn’t save...so it’s going to be short because I don’t have much time.

News:

Abraham came to church and was confirmed on Sunday!!

Elder Bednar came to Ghana for a live broadcast to the YSA and Youth in West Africa! It was pretty amazing and so great to learn from an Apostle of Jesus Christ!

We had our first District council meeting with me leading... It was good! We were all able to learn from each other and help make us better missionaries!

This Friday we'll have our first Zone training with President Simpson!
I’m sure it'll be a great learning experience for all of us!

The weather is cool! Cloudy with a light rain here and there.

I made the best bean stew of my life this last week!! It really tastes amazing! Come on over if you want to try some!! Winneba Ghana Africa!

Thanks for the encouragement in your emails this week!
Remember Jesus loves you!

Hello family and friends!!! Another week gone by and it’s about the same news as last week ha-ha
We had confirmations on Sunday for the newly baptized converts...Although sad news. Only 2/3 showed up!! Bro Abraham left for sea (he’s a fisherman) on Saturday and never returned so we have to make sure he comes next week! Because without receiving the Holy Ghost by lying on of hand, the baptism isn’t complete!
The teaching pool is low but we've found a lot of primary kids who are 8 or above who haven’t been baptized yet so we're now teaching the primary ha-ha not really but it seems like it! We are meeting with a new investigator named Rafial. He came to church about 4-5 months ago and then traveled. But he’s back now and he's come to church twice now. He doesn’t understand much English so we're working with members to teach him so he’s understands everything! We've been asked by the mission president to quickly relate our message to the restoration! Because that’s truly what makes our message different then everyone else’s! That God the father and his son Jesus Christ came to this earth and restored the true and fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ back to the earth through a living prophet named Joseph smith!
And I believe that to be true! Because if it’s not... I would definitely say I’m wasting my time out here...but I’ve come to know it’s true by doing what we invite everyone else to do.. Pray and ask God yourself if it’s true! And ill promise the same thing Moroni in the Book of Mormon promises. That it will be through the power of the Holy Ghost that you'll know this message is true!
I know the church is true! I love the gospel of Jesus Christ so much!! I’m grateful to be serving at this time!
I hope everyone has a great week!!! Keep on smiling and staying positive!! Jesus loves you!

HELLOO once again! What a quick week! It ended really well!
A Short update but Mercy's kids, Nancy and Kofi were baptized including a recent converts husband Bro Abraham. What a Sweet moment to watch them enter the covenant of baptism!!
Sister mercy told us how happy she was to see her kids dressed in white and to be baptized!! Even bro Abraham who didn’t really smile or laugh much was SUPER happy when we visited him after church!

Again bro Eric has run from us this last week... so we're planning on dropping him for a little to give him time! But I know one day he'll be baptized!!  At least we planted a seed!

Transfers are this week and guess what!! IM staying Again! Ha-ha this time I’ve been asked to be the District leader for a 4 man district so I’m excited for that! Elder Sakala is being transferred to...guess again, Asamankese!! For those who didn’t know, that’s the city I came from before coming to Winneba. He'll be the Zone Leader there which is perfect for him because he deserves it all the way! I know I had a lot of hard times with him and wanted him to leave a lot but I’ve learned so much within the last 7 months of being with him. And for sure he’s a great friend! It’s hard not to appreciate someone when you’ve been with them for that long! So now I’ll be with Elder Chimbunde who came 3 weeks ago to be with us. Hess also forms Zimbabwe! That makes 3 Zimbabwe comps!! I’m on a roll here!
As well a lot of the older guys that I’m friends with on mission are leaving home this transfer or in the coming transfers! So it’s sad to see them go because they're really cool guys but also happy that they're going home!

So I’ve realized I’m still not that strong in using the scriptures to answer "questions of the soul" so I’ve really been digging in deep during my personal study to Find answers to them so I’m able to help my investigators and I guess myself. Its crazy how many questions I’ve gotten on mission and I haven’t even asked myself those questions so I don’t know how to answer them. For those preparing for missions, I think that is a great thing to do is really dig deep into the scriptures! That’s the way to help answer people’s questions!

Well that’s about it this week! Thanks to everyone for the emails, love and support! It’s keeping me going! I hope everyone has a blessed week!
